Walt Petersen has called the High Country home for the past 30 years, moving here shortly after honeymooning in the Ashe County area with his “bride” Dee in the summer of 1980. Ashe County has certainly proven to be the “perfect place” to call home for the Petersen’s, Walt, Dee, Scooter, Sunny and the newest, Selah.

Walt began his real estate career in 1987 and soon realized he had found his true life’s passion. He earned the GRI, Graduate Realtor Institute, designation in 1999 and the highly respected CRS designation, Certified Residential Specialist, in 2004. He has enjoyed many productive real estate years, even a few as a real estate business owner and Broker in Charge, took a seven year side step into club marketing and management at a local golf resort, but today proudly brings his 22+ years of real estate experience to Vincent Properties.

Walt was President of the Ashe County Board of Realtors in 2006, a challenging yet rewarding opportunity for learning and growth. He has served, or is serving, on the Board of Directors of Hospice of Ashe County, Ashe Memorial Hospital Foundation (Past President), Ashe Habitat For Humanity (President 2007), Ashe County Homes Builders Association (2008 to present) and Ashe County Chamber of Commerce (2008 to present) and the Ashe Country Christmas Tree Growers Association (2010)

He has been very happily married for almost 30 years to his wonderful wife Dee. They enjoy three (3) very special grandchildren, Ben-13, Sam-11 and Hannah-7, along with son Chris and wife Amy from Cary, North Carolina. Children at home include Sunny and Selah, their two wonderful, loving Chocolate labs.
